Going to the Monday Nov 18 Manhattan CB7 Parks and Environment meeting to ask #ShaunAbreu (council member for CD7) if #RiversideParkConservancy (#RPC) is going to get reimbursed for work on the Franz Sigel Stairs which were destroyed by a car. RPC is a horticultural organization.
@atthenius mentioned wanting one lane of a northbound two lane auto exit at 118th Street from the Henry Hudson Parkway #HHP). She wanted it for bikes during the closure of the Westside Greenway on Cherry Walk. A fab idea. Realized that opening a lane to bikes and connecting it to Riverside Park would also greatly help NYC Parks and Riverside Park Conservancy move vehicles to the northern park without having to drive on Riverside Drive.

@capntransit Best thing to happen recently in the vicinity of the Denny Farrell Pedestrian Bridge is for the Riverside Park Conservancy to convert some parking into an exercise area. Cars generate garbage.

Went on a bird walk this morning in #RiversideParkNY led by Torie of the #RiversideParkConservancy . Lots of birds out. Even with all the dogs yapping. The birds still move too fast for me so I ended up taking photos of infrastructure. Mostly stairs with handrails for #MapComplete and #OpenStreetMap.
The #RiversideParkConservancy has created an incredibly large #pollinator meadow north of tennis courts at 119th. You may also see some very cute #goats.
Some of the Riverside Park Conservancy's (RPC) four summer 2022 goats which lived in a large pen in Riverside Park between the 119th Street Tennis courts and Riverside Drive.Their purpose was ostensibly to eat invasive vines and invasive multiflora rose. How much of that they did is debatable. What they did which is without question is raise the profile of RPC, involve young volunteers, provide a local attraction and petting zoo.

Took extremely enlightening and inspiring tour of the northern part of Riverside Park with the Riverside Park Conservancy. Before this I had no idea how much has been done there. A lot has been done. Totally incredible.
