This is what we used to be taught were Christian values, though I'd suggest it's just basic human decency. The look on Rees-Mogg's face in response tells us much about his much-vaunted Christianity.

"So that's where we are. Sunak is talking tough. But peer a little deeper and he is fucked in nearly every way there is for a man to be fucked: legally, logically, practically, legislatively, politically and constitutionally. All these avenues are blocked off. It's checkmate."

Suella Braverman: No flights before election under PM's Rwanda plan https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-67446101
Ever. No flights ever. Tories aren’t going to win the next election & whoever does will quietly backtrack while leaving the burning wreckage of the policy as salt to rub in Tory wounds.
This whole shabby affair is a distraction designed to appeal to the foam-mouthed right wing loonies.
Y’ALL!
stop everything you're doing and read this statement by the Public and Commercial Services Union (PCS) , that sued the Tories.
the gvmnt wanted to force union members to capture people in boats to put them in planes & fly them out to detention centers in Rwanda ―YES, IN AFRICA― to process their petitions.
it is clear now, the real checks & balances to neoliberal fuckery lies with LABOR UNIONS

So Sunak's solution is to pass a law calling the Supreme Court liars.
What the fuck is happening to the UK?
Sunak could have crowed today as to how the Bank of England and the falling of international wholesale energy costs have fulfilled one of his five pledges
But he didn't
Because of the announcement of the #RwandaRuling
And I laughed x
The Tory vice chair is advocating ignoring the ruling of the UK Supreme Court. This is where the party of law and order is at.
#UKPolitics #Rwandaruling
The court rules the agreement illegal and so @RishiSunak suggests changing the law. How is this ethical? #ToryCorruption #RwandaRuling

30p Lee Anderson helpfully saying in the HofC, "We should ignore the law and put them on a plane now."

This is important to bear in mind when, inevitably, Tory MPs and their outriders spend the next few days using the #RwandaRuling as an argument for the UK's leaving the #ECHR.
The ECHR exists solely to provide a degree of protection of the rights of the people against the excesses of their government.
Don't imagine for one moment they wouldn't treat you the way they treat refugees if it suited their purposes and they thought they could get away with it.
Chris Mason: Supreme Court ruling leaves Rwanda policy in tatters https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-67426578
Quelle surprise. Supreme Court rules in favour of humanity.
Oh dear. What a pity. Never mind.
Now they reap what they sowed. Rish!’s 5 pledges are going well, no?
The conservatives deputy chairman has said we should ignore the #rwandaruling and send people anyway. Why isn’t Sunak sacking him?
Shock* Decision at High Court: Turns out the UK Govt can't pick and choose which laws apply to it.
*Not a shock at all.
"If necessary, I am prepared to re-visit our domestic legal framework,' says #Sunak in #pmqs after Lord Reed's #RwandaRuling
We now have various elected representatives on the government benches saying some combination of, the government should break domestic and international law and pull out of a convention on human rights in response to a court ruling that itself made clear would be unaffected by not being subject to that convention.
We no longer have a functioning government.
How do we bring this dangerous cabal to account when they also control when we get an election?
Common sense may have prevailed today with the #rwandaruling but let us not forget the UK government has wasted millions on the failed scheme.
Sunak's response to the #RwandaRuling is to continue along a fruitless task, doubling down on nastiness.
Cue...massive temper tantrum from the wicked witch from the West!
Now that all five judges dammed the inhumane Rwanda plan.
She will think that we need to hear her bile!
