#Newswire: The FAO has assumed joint custodianship with UNICEF of a new Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) indicator regarding Minimum Dietary Diversity (MDD). This indicator captures a crucial aspect previously lacking in tracking progress toward ending malnutrition and achieving #SDG2 (Zero Hunger) and the broader 2030 Agenda. The new indicator was formally adopted by the United Nations Statistics Division at its 56th session in New York.

We have some nutritional leeway to begin with. We could, and really should, eat less meat, and our food production capacity would increase greatly. We will not now be able to to reach the ambitious, historic #SDG2 ambition, end hunger, by 2030. But neither experience this 1973 vision of 2022 life.
