Cupid’s Helper

Guiah peeked around the corner, the cubbie room was empty as she had hoped. It was Valentines Day and classmates could leave valentines in the cubbies. While the other cubs had rushed to deposit theirs Guiah had stayed back, too shy to give hers while everyone watched. Now she shyly sneaked over to the cubbies, got on her tippy toes and pushed her card in … but it fell out. She tried again, and it fell out again … she just wasn’t tall enough to push it far enough in. She had been so carful to sneak in here and now she couldn’t give her Valentine.

“Need a hand?” came a voice from behind her.

She gave a “SQUEEK!” of surprise and turned to see the bear that sometimes volunteered to assist the teacher.

“Looks like you could use a hand from cupids helper?”

She nodded, her face blushing as she held it out for the bear.

“You’ll need to tell me who its for too.”

She blushed deeper and pointed at a cube.
