I GMed for years before I had a chance to actually be a player.
In our fourth SLA Industries session of the year, my team took a brief break from the high-stakes undercover infiltration of enemy-occupied research facilities.
Instead we took a relaxing jaunt to the Cannibal Sectors to check in on a secret laboratory. No living scientists or even cannibals, but hostile Manchines cut short our visit. A couple nasty shots to the helmet rendered my dude unconscious, and a teammate dragged me away.
Someone in the Darker Hue Discord asked why I don't just run SLA. I've talked about it multiple times and love it. I even own everything published for it. Should #SLAIndustries be my next mini-campaign? #TTRPGS
In the third SLA Industries session of the year we managed to safely exfiltrate a scientist and his family from a rival company research lab. Charm, climbing skill, electronic jamming, and high speed driving got the job done without gunplay or bloodshed.

My team and I have infiltrated the enemy research facility. But now they’re hiding out in the basement on standby while I rely on my ability to be a lying liar who lies to safely extract the scientist we’re recruiting.

First SLA Industries session of the new year, resuming our ongoing 22 year old campaign.
Working to extract a scientist and his family from a heavily guarded hospital occupied by one of SLA’s rival companies. With few appealing options, we decided to go with the trusty sewer entrance (we’ve spent more time in sewers than the Super Mario Bros.). I got dragged off by a sewer squid, but managed to survive.
Most recently, but not for the first time, I stumbled across the #TriangleAgency, a paranormal investigation and #Corporate #Horror #TTRPG, via @olliegross.bsky.social.

Can we just acknowledge how damn awesome it is that SLA Industries got a 2nd edition. Which seems to be thriving.
I was introduced to it in the 2010s as an odd Scottish game with a dated system and a ton of charm. Playing it didn't work out very well but I loved just reading the books. Drug Nun illustration remains, in my opinion, the absolute greatest piece of art in any RPG book, ever.
And now they have their third crowdfunding campaign for 2nd edition books.
My gaming 2024 session 0 is a fortnight away. I'm still torn between kicking it off with #OneRing or #SLAIndustries. Both already have #Roll20 campaigns set up, and hopefully, by tomorrow, I'll decide.

Immediately prior to the start of the pandemic, my local group was playing SLA Industries. Tonight, after a gap of about three years and nine months, we resumed that campaign.
We’ve played a lot of other games in the meantime, primarily on Roll20, but it was nice returning to our 20-year-old on again, off again campaign. Still a bit foggy on what was happening prior to the break…
