ja, mir leuchtet ein, für wenige Nutzungsstunden zählt die Investitionssumme, deshalb Gasturbine, obwohl wenig effizient. Der Mehrpreis für mehr Wasserstoff ist billiger als eine effizientere Anlage, meist totes Kapital.
Aber: Ist denn eine reversible #Elektrolyse/ #Brennstoffzelle nicht die bessere Wahl? Sind #SOEC / #SOFC so schweineteuer oder skalieren nicht, dass getrennte, ineffizientere Anlagen (in beide Richtungen) immer noch gewinnen? Danke!

I would not call the FuelCell Energy $FCEL solid oxide electrolyzer #SOEC a "commercially proven electrolyzer", due to the lack of multiple (or even a single) commercial installations.↙️

Indeed, the first FuelCell Energy #SOEC system demo is ongoing at Idaho National Lab #INL .

IMO Elcogen's EU-backed systems aren't practical, as 333 of their tiny 3.3kW stacks are needed for a 1 MW-scale #fuelcell pilot.
Think of the multiple failure points!
Think of maintaining all those blowers and other moving parts!
