“It’s a scorched-earth policy,” said a Malian village chief who fled. “The soldiers speak to no one. Anyone they see, they shoot. No questions, no warning. People don’t even know why they are being killed.”

The #RussianAfricaCorps is using the same tactics as #WagnerPMC the refugees said, in accounts not reported by international media until now. 2 refugees showed videos of villages burned by the “white men.” 2 others said they found bodies of loved ones with liver & kidneys missing, an abuse the AP previously reported around Wagner.

Where The Sun Casts No Shadow

EveNSteve, in collaboration with Kasini House and Kolaj Magazine, is proud to announce the opening of this exciting new exhibition, Where the Sun Casts No Shadow: Postcards from the Creative Crossroads of Quito, Ecuador.

The multi-faceted new show includes two new EveNSteve artworks, as well as poetry, collage, and murals from several fascinating Ecuadorian artists, and will be celebrated with a reception and artist talk this Saturday, Nov. 16 from 2-4PM at the Southern Vermont Art Center in Manchester, Vermont. The show is on display Nov. 1-30, 2019. After this it will be a traveling exhibition.

(Which is to say: live in Vermont? COME SEE IT NOW!)

The two new EveNSteve monumental artworks are: Walking Makes You Think Differently, a semi-fictional account of a visitor's reaction to walking the streets of a foreign city, and Women of the Apocalypse, a documentary artwork depicting the painting of a three story tall mural at a Quito artists' collective. (See videos of these works below.) These two artworks formed the springboard for Ric Kasini Kadour's curation of _Where the Sun Casts No Shadow. _

We are SUPER grateful for the collaboration of Kasini House, Kolaj Magazine, the Southern Vermont Art Center, the Quito PLAYhouse, El Club de College Quito, muralist Mo Vasquez, and poet Maria Clara Sharupi Jua. In particular this show would not exist without the superhuman efforts of Ric Kasini Kadour and Chris Byrne. Special thanks to Anne Corso, executive director at Southern Vermont Art Center. We owe you a very large and very beautiful coffee.
