The small purple tops of Joe Pye Weed is just starting to come out of the ground. Behind it is the much fuller green leaf base of a stiff goldenrod. There's a smaller tuff of green from the showy goldenrod and the starter stems of the common mint emerging.

The Joe Pye Weed is turning green and is bout a foot high. The green leaf base of a stiff goldenrod is flopping in on itself. The stems of the common mint is also at abouta foot high.
