We knew it was going to be tough sledding at Homestead, and it was. But even so, @carlile was able to grab valuable stage points, finishing 2nd in stage 1, 3rd in stage 2, and bring the Little Bear Sanctuary Chevy to the line in 6th at the end.

We're off until next week when the series heads to Martinsville Raceway for some short track action.

Our last race of the week takes place tonight at the virtual Homestead-Miami Speedway.

The 1.5 mile oval is both a fan and driver favorite, with progressive banking and wide straightaways providing high speeds and many passing opportunities. However, this place can chew you up and spit you out in no time. The aged and abrasive asphalt loves to eat rubber, so tire management is paramount if the drivers want to make it to the end.

A solid performance for @carlile tonight at Las Vegas. We started in 3rd, finished 10th in stage 1, grabbed 1st in stage 2, and came home 3rd at the end.

With that, the 81 has taken the outright lead in the points heading into tomorrow's race at Homestead. He also has the most stage wins (3), the most top-5's (4), and the most top-10's (5) so far. Needless to say, we have the ball rolling early.

It's another doubleheader this week, starting off with Las Vegas on Monday, followed by Homestead on Tuesday.

Coming off of a hot streak, winning at COTA and finishing second at Phoenix last week, @carlile is currently tied for the lead in the series championship. But the work is far from done. Homestead, while being a favorite on the circuit, hasn't been a kind track for us. We've yet to have a top-10 finish here, and our last race was an abysmal 28th place showing. With renewed enthusiasm, we're aiming to change that this week.
