Here’s a few thoughts from the first few weeks of 2024 regarding #streams & such:

1. I experimented with #multi-streaming as per #Twitch’s new #simulcasting policy. After trying it for some time, I’ve concluded that it’s more effort than it’s worth, not beneficial to most creators, and doesn’t seem to obtain the goals that this strategy has been lauded for.

I discontinued my multi-streaming format.

2. Growing increasingly weary of social media platforms as the primary method of communication with my supporters. The idea that my posts can be deboosted, my account limited, and my reach impacted because of the policy whims of major corporations does not sit right with me. The sentiment grew when #Twitter was acquired, and it only grows as I observe the changes to #Threads, #Instagram’s Twitter alternative.

I am looking into launching a #newsletter / #blog for my content & my supporters.

Apparently Twitch updated its TOS at the end of October for simulcasting which brings it more in line with other platforms. Simulcasting is allowed, if:

1. The quality of the Twitch stream is not worse than is available on any other simulcasted stream
2. The streamer does not direct their Twitch viewers to leave Twitch for the simulcast on other services
3. The streamer does not do things to combine the streams like merging chat or other features "to ensure the Twitch community is included in the entirety of the experience"

Additionally, they will be including a way to designate the stream as a simulcast.

Anybody who’s felt locked in streaming on #Twitch should be excited!

Twitch just announced changes to #simulcasting rules so you can stream to any other service (like #youtube or #kick) at the same time!

I am already testing how this works logistically on my stream! I see this as a huge win for any smaller creators who have felt like they can’t have a broader reach due to Twitch’s Affiliate program.

Pues eso se acabó.
Ahora a excepción de plataformas para móviles como #TikTok o #Snapchat esto está prohibido.
