Yesterday, I put on clothes that were ordered a size smaller than my other clothes. They fit me nicely.
Today, I weighed myself. I was a pound and a bit lighter than 45 days ago. That is still a win in my book.

So, where had I got to with trying to play .SFZ instrument samples on Garageband? After more reading and mucking about than I really wanted to do… success!
Turns out that the isfizz app, which interprets that file format, has a pretty strict folder hierarchy which isn't mentioned in the few scraps of text that pass for its instruction manual. Luckily, I found a passing comment to that effect on a forum, moved the FLAC files to where the app was expecting to find them, and voilà! Or even viola, if I download the orchestral strings files.
It's a bit of a faff to use because it has a set range of notes it will play, so I have to shift the octave for whichever type of recorder I select (unlike every other virtual instrument I have tried so far), but it *does* sound like a baroque recorder!
When my watch started telling me it was time to stand up and then congratulating me when I did, I initially thought it was patronizing. But now I’m just happy for the win.

I ran between 2.7 and 3.0 miles each day (M-F) last week. I was stuck at a pace of about 8:45 min / mi all week until Friday, when I hit 8:29. Today I did a hillier route and averaged 8:33, so I think I really broke past the plateau! #running #smallvictories
Had a doctor appointment today. New doctor. Managed to do the while thing in German without asking them to switch to English, Spanish or even to my rusty Italian.

I had an appointment at the local VA clinic this morning; a space near the entrance is reserved for photos of the current POTUS and VA secretary. I fully anticipated flipping off the Mango Mussolini’s photo on my way out but alas, it’s not there. I told one of the receptionists that they can leave it off the wall but she said she was sorry as there will be a photo of the orange pile of shit eventually. At least it wasn’t there today. There will be other chances to flip him off.

We went for a little drive today to the most remote and un-peoply place could find and had a takeaway Costa sandwich and coffee in the car, in their carpark.
It was more romantic than it probably sounds.
It's nice to get out of the house for a while after being ill, for almost 4 weeks.
Accomplishments today: went to my local Penzy’s store today and bought some things. Car smells like spices and stuff.
Went to pick up my partner’s bike from our local Trek store (winter service time— already did mine earlier this month). Bought a new helmet and gloves since my old helmet is (mumble)years old. Excited to go back to bike commuting!
Went to the grocery store on the way home, yay fresh veggies!
