It has been 0 days since a crappy SB50 connector had a contact back-away in the housing, causing the contacts to heat up and melt the housing.
Never had an issue with the 30A power pole connectors, but the SB50s, most of which are cheap clones… are not cut from the same cloth.
Allegedly these are rated for 600V 50A… I would not want to be near one that had a bad crimp when it's handling 30kW!
Needless to say, I'm now getting about 100W off the panels today with a potential of about 13V… instead of 0W with 6.3V!
