"Pretty easy to do when you are playing with a rookie and use the AI as your hellish little lap dog. I'll reserve my back patting for later as both of your hands are already in the way. I also gave up 25 turns ago and haven't fought back. But, yeah. Good victory. It's almost like tripping over a bag of money and saying you had a hot financial day."

I'm playing #SoliumInfernum with a good friend, my brother, and an AI. If you're not familiar with it, it's a #strategygame in which every player is a devil vying for the throne of hell. It is a Diplomacy-style game that has a reputation as a friendship destroyer.
I offered a bargain to my friend to cooperate. He refused, saying "this is hell. You want something, you take it."
And ever since then, I have done so, often at his expense. He's playing a devil that specializes in military conquest. I am playing a devil that specializes in taking other people's stuff and pointing the finger at someone else.
The game is almost done. I have a commanding lead. My friend is vying for a military victory, but in my last few moves, I have crippled him by stealing his lieutenants and an artifact that allowed him to teleport his big, bad unit. And I did it all while also framing the AI.
He has gone on the party chat saying "F-you to whoever did that." And I'm not sure whether the right move in the big picture is to fess up or to stay silent.
It's a game that's all about betrayal. He's played this game before, he knows what's up. You've got to do what you've got to do to win. I just don't see why he's taking it so hard when he should just acknowledge he's been outplayed and should learn something from this.

I wish "Solium Infernum" would be a bit more on sale. It's hard to recommend a somewhat complex and time consuming game to my friends when it's still rather expensive.
Playing against the AI is fun, but I'm sure it'd be even better as a friendship destruction simulator :btr_ryo_stare:

#SoliumInfernum is a turn based strategy game about vying for control over hell. From the tutorial, the systems felt very board game-like, though I'll admit I'm not familiar with videogame 4X.
As with any games of this type, there are a ton of interconnected systems, and I just didn't see what a basic plan would look like because everything I wanted to do was too expensive. I think it's a game I'd learn from watching someone else

I'm playing the greed devil in #SoliumInfernum and my fellow devils accuse ME of fraud!
Every 10 turns, a vote is put forward on a random set of edicts. Here, the vast majority of players targeted me, taking a good chunk of my wealth but awarding me prestige (which usually determines the winner) in return.
Ultimately, it has delayed a key purchase I had planned on making, but it allowed me to increase my rank (take a voluntary hit to prestige to increase economy and political power).
Oh dear, the servers for #SoliumInfernum appear to be taking a moment to contemplate life before returning to mediating infernal machinations...
I'm playing my first multiplayer game of SA, with some friends. I've *just* realised that I can't just bully whoever is a convenient target, because then they'll all realise they can gang up on me.
I need an ally. Hm. I've just tricked Andromalius (north) into weakening a place of power so I could capture it (who then sent an insult), I've just sent an extortion demand to Astaroth (east) so I can vendetta his weakened legion, and Beelzebub (west) seems weak and has already insulted me once while I was busy with Andromalius. I could cancel my turn before it goes through and try to forge an alliance with Astaroth, only that player and Beelzebub's are a couple, so that wouldn't work.
Hm. Maybe Belial? They're on the other side of my neighbours from me. I could offer to distract them so that Belial can come in and take a place of power himself... Maybe him and Mammon, since Mammon is using Chains of Avarice on him maybe they'll stay non-hostile to each other.
This politics stuff is more fun than I thought it would be, and I'm not even doing it right.
