This German neopagan group reminded me strongly of the older British group Steeleye Span.
Although I'm sure some people love this MV, I can also imagine it evoking a strongly negative reaction.

People who followed my old account on folksocial.org might remember the idea of Strileye Spyann - getting all the Tri Yann and Steeleye Span music you can together in one play list and hitting shuffle. I have a new idea which I’m going to test on tomorrow’s trip to Welney: Chumbabella - the same thing but Chumbawamba x Blowzabella… I’ll let you know how it goes (unless it drives my passenger to do me in, in which case it has been nice knowing y’all)

What are you all listening to today? I’ve discovered Steeleye Span Live At The Bottom Line, 1974 which I don’t think I’d heard before. Really good, classic stuff. Helps the work to go by.
Found a neat little article that provides a background for the song which is apparently "an 18th Century song from the reportoire of the Copper family". It also includes a more sombre performance by Jon Boden and the Remnant Kings. And points to some other versions. Happily checking those out too. #folksong #SteeleyeSpan

Listening to Steeleye Span a lot lately. Lots of old faves but currently stuck on one i hadn't listened to as much: Hard Times of Old England. Such a strangely festive tune considering the lyrics. And seems to kinda fit into the turning of the year. #folksong #SteeleyeSpan

I'm not a Christian, but I was very much raised as one, and I still love this carol, which I feel conveys a sense of the spiritual mystery that belief in Christmas represents.
