I don't know how I missed this EP by The Agonist (it's from 2021), but I'm loving it! They are one of those few bands where I thoroughly enjoy all of their work.

The Agonist were a melodic death metal/metalcore band from Canada formed in 2004. Unfortunately they disbanded earlier this year. Here is the MV for Orphans from the album with the same title, released in 2019 it was their last full album.

Aquí estamos de nuevo con mis pequeñas recomendaciones de bandas que me gustan.

Hoy toca otra que me suelo poner para concentrarme mejor (lo sé suena raro pero yo desde siempre he estudiado con música y no se por qué me concentro mejor cuando tengo música de fondo)

La banda es The Agonist, una banda de death metal sinfónico fundada en canadá allá por el año 2004.

Ésta banda me empezó a gustar con la primera cantante que tuvo Alissa White-Gluz (Actual cantante de Arch Enemy) y me gustó porque mezclaba muy bien voces guturales con melódicas además del sonido que tienen tan melódico.

Tras la marcha de Alissa a Arch Enemy entró una cantante nueva llamada Vikcy Psarakis y el estilo tuvo que variar un poco con temas un poco más lentos y menos guturales puesto que la voz de Vicky no llega al nivel de Alissa, que aún así está guay pero si me dan a elegir me quedo con Alissa.

Como curiosidad, los temas que suelen tocar suelen tratar sobre temas sobre los derechos de los animales, críticas a políticas mundiales o problemas sociales actuales. También se veía un poco influenciado por las ideologías de Alissa que es una ferviente defensora de los derechos de los animales.

Y como anécdota recuerdo un año que tocaba Arch Enemy en un festival llamado Hellfest en Francia que mientras estaba esperando a que empezase otra banda estaban firmando al lado de uno de los escenarios principales y había una cola larguísima. Cogí el movil como si fuese una cámara de fotos y me colé al inicio de la fila y TODO el mundo le estaban dando la mano a los miembros de la banda menos a Alissa que solo le daban una tarjetita para que se la firmasen y ya. Y yo que ya era fan de ella por su banda anterior (The agonist) fui corriendo a darle la mano y se sorprendió porque nadie interactuaba con ella. Super simpática y agradable.

J'aimais beaucoup le chant de Alissa White-Gluz dans The Agonist (varié, pour faire simple), et j'ai été un poil déçu quand elle a rejoint Arch Enemy car c'est moins subtil on va dire.

Mais bon, on ne peut pas nier que ça décoiffe.
