Now the rare Motorola #MC6809 in the #Thomson #TO7-70 has found a worthy place next to its successor in Atari. The light pen works on a tube TV without any problems. However, the accuracy is like 'oh, I hit the left top of the screen' :) At the time, however, it was quite a unique selling point of this computer.

It was a quick evening to get the floppy drive of the #Thomson #TO7-70 working. When I opened the case, I immediately noticed that the floppy cable had come loose from the drive and was hanging around. I plugged it in and did a quick test; no more "NO DISK" errors. :) I also took the opportunity to do some cleaning, add a missing foot, format a C64 floppy disk with DSKINI0, and save a BASIC test program. Everything's working great, and it's ready for the exhibition. But first, I'll take a look at the cartridge with the 6809 assembler.

Today, with an unusual follow-up project. This #Thomson #TO7-70, sold almost exclusively in France, was donated to us almost fully equipped. Various cartridges including an #assembler, floppy drive with controller, light pen, etc.
Unfortunately, the keyboard membrane was completely broken at the connectors, and all attempts with silver paint and conductive adhesive foil failed. And I couldn't find a replacement anywhere, so I bought a second, defective one in the hope that its membrane was still in working order :) And it is, keyboard fully functional.

Well, it doesn't look particularly good. And in the end it's just an attempt, but it already worked at #Enterprise128. I attached thin, flexible wires to the conductor track using silver lacquer. On the other side are 90° angled plugs. I'll see if it still works on Saturday.

Today I demounted the #Thomson #TO7-70. The upper row of keys does not work properly, so I give it a try to repair the keyboard foil connector. Searched a bit, but there seems to be no replacement part available.
It was a very complete donation at 3rd Oct. with lots of ROM modules & expansions and a diskette drive.

Au démarrage j'ai bien la disquette qui apparaît dans les options et il tente un accès disque si je choisis ce menu.
Je ne peux pas aller plus loin car il me faut la cartouche du Basic 128 avec les commandes DOS , je vais probablement en faire une avec un pcb !

@grum999 Yes, I need to enable different memory configurations. Here's what I found in a manuel technique (see image). So 8+16KB ram or even more on the modèle two.
Still need to figure out the light pen, it's a bit different on this one.
Then maybe I'll do the "musique et jeux" extension since I already have the sound chip and it adds joystick support too.
LOGO was fun for a while as a kid. Great way to introduce kids to programming. You can have functions and everything.
The Thomson TO7 came before the MO5. Whereas the MO5 had a gate array for video, the first TO7s did it all with discrete logic.
Also two IO chips, why? Well, they wanted a timer (for flashing the cursor and tape IO).
They also needed extra ROM because the OS didn't fit in 4KB.
The MC6846 PIO chip has 2KB of ROM. It was designed for "2-chip computers" e.g. CPU + MC6846 (ROM + IO + Timer)
So 6KB ROM. Not enough for BASIC. So put it on a cartridge.
Or how about LOGO?
Welp I guess that's a milestone. I'm going to celebrate by... going to bed.
