🆕 On 25 May, the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences will dedicate a day to the history of Armando de Lacerda and his Experimental #Phonetics Laboratory, a research that was initiated by Quintino Lopes at the IHC.

In addition, they will launch the book "The Global Periphery: Armando de Lacerda and the Coimbra Experimental Phonetics Laboratory (1936-1979)", the fruit of that work. Congratulations to Quintino! 👏👏👏

In the beginning of #publishing in europe there were two fluids a main advantage and both were black: printers ink and coffee. The ink was needed to make scientific prints, the #coffee was the reason for establishing royal coffee houses, the very first public sphere of published science outlets.
