Every couple of years I rediscover that I like Led Zeppelin. For some weird reason, this is always a surprise.

Today, listening to the Led Zeppelin Essntials playlist on #TidalMusic I realized that the Canadian band The Tea Party is definitely a spiritual successor to that great band. I totally slept on The Tea Party as a teen, which is too bad, because their music is so great.

Tangentially, The Civil Wars were an amazing duo and I'm still Very Sad that they broke up.

Shuffle obviously feeding me Middle-Eastern vibes tonight.

One of the best gigs I ever went to was seeing this Canadian band live at a student union bar in Canberra in 1997.

The energy was amazing, and the mixture of hard rock, loops and Middle-Eastern styling left everyone buzzing. I left the gig totally drenched in sweat and hardly felt the cold as I went off into the freezing winter night.

Prior album 'The Edges Of Twilight' is great in its own right, but less Industrial/Metal and more exotic Rock.
