Thanks to everyone who came up to my chat with #torc community. It was blast!
I need your help! Have you seen this #torc?
20cm diameter, 1020g weight. Has three neck ring coils & buffer terminals.
If you've seen one like this anywhere, even if it's a modern replica, please get in touch. It could be anywhere in the world. More details to come...
Please share! Thank you! 😊
Shout out to @tess_machling for the #torc education via #mastodon on what this was before I saw it at the British Museum. My friends and I commented on the incredible craftsmanship seen in these.
The 'Pulborough Area' torc: Is it #IronAge, a forgery or a planted genuine #torc?
Our view? The jury is still out. 👇

The Killarney National Park is stunningly beautiful. We started at Muckross House and walked north of Muckross Lake before we hiked up the first part of Torc Mountain (535m). The trail goes east around the mountain before it goes further up to the summit. 7hrs/20km hike with having good weather the whole way. Exceptional.

@Kristynwongtam: Thank you to everyone who joined the NDP pre-budget consultation at Queen’s Park this week! It was an honour to hear from housing, health care, and environmental advocates about the changes you need from government. #OnPoli #ToPoli #TorC… https://twitter.com/kristynwongtam/status/1748484381214171175/photo/1

Hi, we are The Online Radio Club founded in 2017 offering a traditional club format (constitution, officers, regular meet-up) but using an online conference room for easy access - this was established years before COVID!
We meet weekly at 1930UK and, after a catch-up round table, we discuss topics from the hobby to broaden minds, gain different perspectives and help nurture the newcomers. More details available at https://onlineradioclub.org
A stunning #torc from the Erstfeld Treasure, showing animals that merge into each other to form fanciful creatures. The treasure was deposited in a rock crevice in a valley leading to the Gotthard Pass, probably as votive offerings of a group of travellers. It consists of four golden #torcs and three golden arm rings. Found in Erstfeld, Switzerland, dating around 390 BC. On display at Landesmuseum Zurich.
Help! I need lots of images - drawn, photos, glass, sculpture etc - from 19th/first half 20th century that show someone wearing a torc (or related) necklace.
Can be Iron Age, Picts, Roman or Prehistoric. This kinda thing.
Please RT. Thank you so much! ❤️

ALT: Images show various 19th century visions of what Picts, Celts looked like. There's a lot of woad and much romanticism.

Two images of the sword.
Both are centred on the hilt.
The hilt is made from the one material and is verdigris green with a flat-ish pommel.
The handle has herringbone ridges.
The hilt piece overlaps the blade piece with a flattened semicircular shape, reminiscent of a #Torc?
The blade is greyish.
The sword is lying flat and only the hilt and upper blade are exposed.
Two small arrowheads and a upper rib bone are visible next to the sword.
Hoss is a torc who is so very complicated and I both love and hate him. He's a lot of fun --- he owns a place called Inn Harm's Way, a place where people can go and watch people fight for a price. He's known as a very shady figure but he has a very huge heart when it comes to things that count.
I loved drawing him and I am excited to actually get to use him in things again.
That thing when you post about a #torc you've been looking at & suddenly look at photo close up & realise that, yes, the thing attached to this torc *also* has crap dripped on it, just like so much of the stuff attached/used to repair/added to torcs, but never the complete torcs.
Yet another example of how they were mixing & matching #Snettisham hoards. Honestly, these hoard deposits happened quick - really, really, really quick.
