Yesterday during 🌀 Severe Tropical Cyclone Trevor's (now Tropical Cyclone Trevor) landfall Lockhart River was just outside the intense Eyewall, they did skim it a bit but they never experienced any of the Hurricane force winds, however they did experience 7 hours of Tropical Storm force.
The center of circulation of Category 1 Tropical Cyclone Trevor is 36km south of Weipa which can be said with a degree of high confidence as it is clearly visible from Weipa radar.
Forecast show it'll likely make landfall a second time as a Category 4 (ATCS) borderline Cat 5 or Category 4 (SSHWS)
Much of the East Portion of the Gulf of Carpenteria is still under Tropical Cyclone Warning with it having the potential to affect those parts within 24 hours or already doing so.
Tropical Cyclone Watch has now been issued for Nhulunbuy to NT/Qld Border and Kowanyama to Pormpuraaw. Tropical Cyclone Watch means Tropical Storm force or Hurricane force winds from the Cyclone may start having impact in 24-48 hours.
🌀 Tropical Cyclone Veronica has reached naming intensity of Category 1 (ATCS), or mid Tropical Storm (SSHWS), forecast show it is unlikely to affect land in the next 3 days however it intensifies to a Category 4 while curving towards the North West Coast of Western Australia.
No Tropical Cyclone Warnings or Watches have been issued for this system as it is very unlikely with its current movement to affect land in the next 48 hours
