Just checked out the methods behind that Civitas (Tufton St) report saying over half of all households get more benefits than they pay tax.
As I suspected they include retired households. We have an ageing population. Of COURSE that will increase the % who receive more benefits (aka pensions) than they pay tax.
Also they include use of the NHS as one of the benefits. Poorer, older people are more likely to need care, which is exactly why we pool risk.
Right wing frauds.
