I once wrote a script with #tweepy to figure out how much the people I followed talked. It was very useful when I felt like my timeline was too crowded, giving me more information about who was filling it (or rather, hard data instead of just intuition).

I’d love to put something together for #Mastodon now, because I’m running into a similar problem. Is there a good tweepy alternative, or other tools for this?

Twitter also loved to throttle; do I need to worry about this with Mastodon, too?

Forked from Tweepy repo, I've made a rough foundation of tweepy-mastodon library. I implemented basic helper methods to adopt Mastodon.py's dict into the tweepy's User and Status data structure. Now it can fetch the first object `verify_credentials` (a.k.a. `me`) with the almost same interface as Tweepy and Mastodon API. I'm going to migrate the posting API and timeline API next! 🐘

New post ( Twitter Extract: Downloading data not exposed in the Official Data export ) has been published on Suramya's Blog:

The Twitter Export didn’t give me all the data I wanted such as details on Owned/Subscribed Lists (Including Followers and Members of the list) & Followers

Ara tots ells funcionen amb #tweet2toot, un programa #Python que fa servir la llibreria #Tweepy, llibreria que permet a tweet2toot no dependre de serveis externs i per tant estalvia recursos de màquina. 💪

El bot replica @vpartal em serveix de bot de proves per un codi totalment diferent al que feia servir fins ara. Funcionava amb #nitter2toot que necessita una instància #Nitter.
El nou codi està basat en #fullposter però només replica en el sentit #Twitter -> #Mastodon, no necessita cap servei addicional com ara Nitter per tant gasta menys recursos del servidor. La llibreria #Python que fa la màgia és #Tweepy.
Si tot funciona com espero aniré passant tots els bots replica al nou codi.

Ja he aconseguit que #fullposter repliqui a #Twitter les #enquestes fetes a #Mastodon!
La versió v2 de la API de Twitter ho permet però calia que fullposter fes servir la darrera versió de #Tweepy, la v4.3.0, que com a novetat principal inclou precisament gestionar tweets amb la API v2 de Twitter.

He alliberat el nou codi de #mastotuit!
- actualitzada la versió de #Tweepy a la v4.1.0
- afegit suport de vídeo!
