omg i want a #VestaBoard so bad - it's a big split-flap display like the 30th Street Station board in philly. costs a fortune. now they make a smaller one.
but that one can do 45 characters and costs USD $900 as a pre-order otherwise $1200. the big one was over $3400 and i just cannot even with that.
i looked around for other options and couldn't find anything that'd work for me other than just a TV and a webapp rendering a sign. weaksauce.

So of course I wanted one.
Took me a while to google-fu them, it's a #Vestaboard 22x6 electromechanical wall display.
About the size of a medium TV.

I spent the evening refactoring my #vestaboard weather app code to use WeatherKit instead of Dark Sky. This funny little app has become my favorite use of the board since I got it, showing me the weather in a color format that makes sense to my brain. Though extreme weather like today makes it look funny…
Version 0.9.0 of Vesta, my #Vestaboard client library for Python, has been released.
This version drops support for Python 3.7, switches the underlying HTTP library to HTTPX, and adds support for the BLANK and FILLED character codes.
