I'm sorry, I can't help you save your democracy if the people you keep voting for insist on #bipartisanship with fascists. Hopefully you choose to #votelocal in 2025 and 2027. Typically very few people vote in those and there are commonly more #conservatives who do so consistently. This is also where you'll see the most direct impact on things directly affecting your daily life (school boards, for example). It's time to move on, forget about saving the Vichy Dems from themselves electorally.

I'm not going to tell you how to vote- many of my moots on here have zero faith in the electoral system, and rightfully so. I will ask that you #votelocal for the best candidates, because this is often where the buck stops and meaningful change is possible.

My own conservative suburb is a good example - a #grassroots campaign for a city council seat won against a corporate backed shill in 2021. Outspent 10:1, she triumphed by some 52 votes and has consistently delivered for our #community.

Here's the problem

As of March 2024,
54.93% of all state legislators in US are Republican
while 44.46% are Democratic.
There are 7,386 state legislative seats in the country.

We even had a face-off between a Blue MAGA moderate Dem and a Progressive Dem in a county council race in 2022... It unfortunately wasn't close, but the Progressive also ran a very low key campaign.

Public Utility Board races are worth keeping an eye on too- if we can get more people to simply turn out and #votelocal there's a lot of potential to help turn the tide there, I think.

This is an OK rundown of the ballot proposals effecting city and county funding and thereafter ones' tax bill, school budgets, and much needed budgets for sewer installation. I think this process is imperfect & lacks public notice and clarity, but also suggest 2 votes of YES. I love ballot proposals, and encourage them for direct engagement in govt decisions by taxpayers.
