Today I bought myself a ticket for Synetic Theatre's dialogue-free adaptation of Shakespeare's ANTONY AND CLEOPATRA. Synetic used to perform in their own space at Crystal City (now called National Landing) in Arlington VA, but are now homeless; this run started yesterday and is at the Shakespeare Theatre in downtown Washington DC.
Synetic's wordless adaptations are renowned, & I enjoyed their version of ROMEO AND JULIET, and their Poe adaptation. But I wonder how easy it'll be to follow if you don't already know the plot, so I'm going to watch a more conventional performance before my ticket date. Kanopy has something like three different versions of ANTONY AND CLEOPATRA, so I'll pick one of them.
