#Banks take notes:
- I don't give a flying flamingo about credit cards or any of the benefits attached to them. I boycott them out of principle as in the end it's just resources extraction mechanism from the poor ones towards those with privileges.
- I'm actively discouraged choosing you if you add and complicate conditions to do basic things for free. If you decide to charge for something, make the cost known up front, obvious, and easy to understand before every single time I'm about to be charged.
- Give me notification about everything I have initiated or involves my money. Do I have scheduled payment that just went out? Have I been charged on my debit card? Did I receive payment? Give me a settings that allows me to be notified about these.
- History of transactions search is everything. If I can't find a payment I made while in Nepal in 2023 that was somewhere between 1000 and 2000 NPR at the time. If I can't find this under a minute, then your history search won't make a cut.
- Your app has to be fast, reliable, easy to use. And no, whatever did that consultant certification told you about "security" is not an actual security, but checklist exercise making worse UX.
- Security: I don't want password reset based on vaguely Googleable stuff to be thing. I don't want to type in password every time I send money to a contact that I know and trust. Yes I do want to know if given transaction has been already made (helps with my Dory memory a lot).
- No I don't want you to have features that will only ever work when everyone is using your platform. Friends chat? No. Expense splitting that works only within the bank? Please stop.
- Bonus points if you don't have and don't plan to implement any crypto.
Switching banks is extremely easy for privileged people. And I'm really happy to take my money elsewhere once you piss me off enough.
