@animalculum very fascinating that not only certain insects can be #activeinwinter temperatures, but even #salamanders.

With that knowledge, I could diffuse the situation: as soon as I made it clear that I was absolutely NOT going to report them to bylaw for walking their dog offleash in a not-offleash zone (I empathized over the dearth of off-leash places), they apologized for being a jerk and we parted ways with smiles and waves.
