This is not a nerd problem but gatekeeping, because it - amongst other issues - adversely affects alternative app stores like #fdroid, #aptoide, #obtanium.

This is about getting rid of competition and controlling the market in a monopolist way.

Just tried downloading #TotalCommander from aptoide.
The displayed version 9999.9999.999.999 gave a loop of advertising pop-ups.
From "apps" store.
Uploaded 3/31/2024

No longer confident wtf aptoide screens apps for.

I wouldn't use apps downloaded from aptoide on any device with my banking details on it.

(Other version are to be found behind the "Other versions" button.)

EDIT: Rechecked, date on that version has changed to 2025.
Confidence now zero.

Got a ~AUD$100 #Android #TVBox from China.
The Google #Launcher/start screen it arrived with was ghastly.
#PlayStore is pretty much un-usable.
Effectively no search for apps.
Would not let Firefox install.
Didn't like scrolling down. 💩

Installed #Aptoide (EDIT: ❌️❌️❌️❌️) from their website.
Installed #Projectivity launcher from Aptoide. And Firefox. (And Kodi but that looks like a lot of work to get set up. What is a PVR anyway?)

And #NewPipe from GitHub. And VLC. And #SBSOnDemand.

Usable now.

Nach einem halben Tag Arbeit laufen auch alle Apps wieder auf dem neuen Gerät (bis auf die, die QR-Codes per Post schicken =>GLS und BBBank...).
Threema, Signal, Thunderbird, Kalender und Kontakte via DAVx5, PassAndroid, Nextcloud, KDE Connect und natürlich ganz wichtig Mastodon.

In total I have 3 games live in the #Aptoide store for iOS that in total rewarded 3K euro

Aptoide says to pay 2K for apps with in-app purchases and 1K for apps without

They tried pushing me to add in-app purchases via their system but I won’t

So I got the minimum for my apps to be listed in their bare store but since their don’t earn anything on it I guess another one is not done

It’s just weird..

Few problems with that: I have no control over the RuStore listing, nor do I control the Aptoide listing. Both may very well be malware.

I just read that they even pay 1000 bucks per game submitted :amaze: if that's right and they accept my apps we'll have the server bills paid for a few months 🤤
