#Catima 2.41.6 is out!
Catima is a simple app for store discount cards, event tickets and more.
This release fixes a regression introduced in 2.41.5 causing the manual barcode selection screen to only show empty squares and makes URLs in card IDs clickable in the "more info" pop up.

Catima is a simple Android app to store event tickets/plane tickets/store discount codes and more in.
Version 2.41.5 is the last iteration of the barcode encoding feature. It removes automatic encoding in favour of deciding encoding once on adding a card (extracted from pkpass files, otherwise ISO-8859-1) and then sticking with that. It also fixes some other bugs.

De QR code van onze Colruyt Xtra kaart die ik in #catima had werkte niet meer aan de kassa.
En inderdaad, als ik ze vergelijk met de code in de xtra app dan is ze verschillend.
No problemo dacht ik, even opnieuw instellen.
Maar de content die ik scan van de xtra app QR code is dezelfde als ik in catima had, en als ik met een andere tool een QR code genereer met wat ik scan ziet die er ook anders uit, dus het ligt niet aan catima.

This builds on the hotfix in 2.41.2 to also fix .pkpass files explicitly stating ISO-8859-1 as format.
It also forcibly sets the barcode format of all existing cards to ISO-8859-1 on upgrade. This used to be the only format supported in Catima, so this reverts any sudden barcode changes.
We may need another bugfix release to get this all right. If you understand UTF-8, *please* join in in https://github.com/CatimaLoyalty/Android/issues/2932.

The barcode encoding feature added in Catima 2.41.0 caused a very minor change in how barcodes where generated, which for some users led to failures to use their cards (https://github.com/CatimaLoyalty/Android/issues/2921). This is now fixed by slightly changing how automatic mode works.

However, I figured, if I go there, why not order some #Catima stickers. After all, Catima is an app available on IzzyOnDroid :) They just came in and they look nice :)

Really glad to see #Catima being so diligently developed. Easily one of my most used phone apps.
Even if some of the loyalty card barcodes that companies use are intentionally obfuscated to get you to use their own app, or at a stretch Google Wallet, they won't stop me finding a way to get them stored in Catima!

This release adds support for UTF-8 barcodes (by default, the encoding will be extracted from the pkpass file or auto-detected if set otherwise).
It also contains some bugfixes and UI tweaks.
Due to Google dropping Android 5 compatibility in their libraries, this will be the last release available for Android 5.

Un gestionnaire de cartes de fidélité open source, hébergeant les données en local et respectueux de la vie privée.
C'est tout ça de moins à trimballer dans son porte-monnaie!

Gutscheine lassen sich übrigens ganz hervorragend in Catima (App, F-Droid) organisieren. Strichcode scannen, Betrag eingeben und bei Selbstzahlerkassen - bspw. Rewe oder Lidl - selbst scannen.
Es gibt auch nen kleinen Button, über den sich der Zahlbetrag eingeben lässt, sodass der direkt von der Gutscheinangabe abgezogen wird.
Manche werden nicht gut erkannt, daher den Code nochmal kontrollieren und ggf. Anpassen.
Funzt auch für Mitgliedsausweise 😉

Es súper cómoda para no tener que llevar las tarjetas de socio de las cosas en la cartera, lo mismo sirve para la biblioteca que para el súper, y a mi es que no me da la gana de instalar las apps "oficiales" que no sé que hacen, o que no puedo instalar al no tener el store (sí, no tengo cuenta de google ni la pienso tener)

This adds a small feature #Stocard users have been repeatedly asking for over the years (though to this day I don't know for what use case): the ability to quickly copy the card ID to your clipboard.
It also contains the conversion of the MainActivity from Java to Kotlin, making almost all UI activities Kotlin now.

We are missing an #Android app that has:
- wallet-like interface with quick-access to tickets, IDs, discounts, etc
- can detect and easily display QR/barcodes but DOES NOT REQUIRE THEM.
- supports PDFs AND images, with quick camera access
- can properly render the full PDF/image instead of just the detected QR/barcode

Tesco Ireland dont seem to be fans of 3rd party loyalty card wallets, such as #Catima.
Today, Tesco staff refused to process my shopping as I didn't have the official Tesco App installed on my phone.
There was a manager involved and the issue was over not wanting to give me the benefit of a loyalty card discount without the app (or physical card). The end result was that I cancelled my purchase.
