Ya he comenzado #BananaFish (los dos primeros capítulos), y efectivamente, como dijo @MontseMartin, no tiene pinta de que vaya a ser un anime muy agradable. Pero lo que he visto me ha gustado, así que aunque me cueste un poco de mi (ya bastante deteriorada) salud mental, voy a tirar p'alante.

I am feeling a little rough. I mentioned this to a friend and he recommended i watch Bungo Stray Dogs. I had heard of it in the same breath as Banana Fish so I'm game.

An orphan thrown into the streets, a happy and presentable suicidal investigator, and angry line manager, supernatural powers, and an over-acted presentation worthy of RADA.

I thought I was feeling rough. Maybe I'm delirious. Because this show is very out there.

Es el primer anime que he visto este año, así que es también la primera review. Aunque es un poco trampa, porque realmente ha sido un revisionado. No es la primera vez que veo este anime. Ni la segunda. Creo que ni la tercera. Posiblemente haya perdido la cuenta. Pero como no había hecho review todavía de él por aquí, pues aprovecho.

Banana Fish es uno de mis animes favoritos. Cuenta con una historia increíble y muy interesante, que no deja de crecer y de complicarse con cada capítulo, y la relación entre los dos protagonistas es sencillamente preciosa.

Eso sí, es duro de ver. Muy duro. La historia, como digo, es tremenda, pero también correosa y amarga. Toca temas complicados como el abuso infantil, la pornografía infantil, la prostitución... Pero si esos trigger warnings no os echan para atrás, os la recomiendo muy fuerte. Aunque si la veis, preparaos para sufrir. Tiene momentos que te dejan literalmente con el corazón destrozado. Yo siempre que la veo paso varios días después como si me hubieran pisoteado el alma. Y me diréis, entonces por qué la vuelves a ver? Pues no sé. Puede que porque me encanta la relación entre los dos protas, tan bonita, tan tierna pese a las circunstancias, tan emotiva.
Y también tan cargada de simbolismos para definir a cada personaje y que dejan entrever desde bien pronto el final.

Y vaya final. En fin, qué voy a decir del final. Pocos finales me han traumatizado como este 🥲

Estoy en proceso de leerme el manga (aún voy por el tomo 4), pero por lo que tengo entendido es aún más duro que el anime, así que aún no sé si sobreviviré :bun_cry:

I found it online 25% cheaper, but it was still expensive, so I asked my friend (who watched the show with me) if he and the other five friends I'll invite to my birthday party wanna buy it for me as a present...

For some inexplicable reason decided to re-read it. I remember doubting certain mangaka's choices, particularly regarding Ash. But the story was ground-breaking so I still enjoyed it a lot. And it's a nice example of genre diversity in shoujo. Always will be
