My new bird feeder with camera is doing a marvellous job catching all the great tits and sparrows in the village, it seems, though it gets very excitable each time a tree sparrow poses for its lens, insisting it is a hooded crow.

Anyway, tits and sparrows may not be the most exotic birds on Earth but I still like them a lot - and look at the colouring of those 'drab' sparrow feathers... isn't it a gorgeous sight?

A sparrow is sitting on the landing zone of my bird feeder. The camera has caught the sparrow's back. Though not technicolor colourful, there's a beautiful & sharp contrast between the darker greys and lighter almost-yellows. In the background there's a snow-laden tree with another large bird feeder hanging from one of its branches. In the middle left there's an old wooden and iron bench waiting for the spring. Behind that the neighbours' house is partly visible. All the rest is snow.
