Government Center. Boston City Hall is the ugliest building in Boston, no one ever disagrees with that. But the brutalist architecture sometimes doesn’t overpower when the light is soft and warm.

The glass canopy of the T station is a great compliment to the city hall plaza.

I"m a big fan of Christopher Kimball's Milk Street (a cooking show and website for cooking supplies) and watch it on PBS when I have the opportunity. So, when I was in Boston, I hunted it down! Located at 177 Milk Street, the building was originally built for the Boston Chamber of Congress and was designated the Flower and Grain Building. This weeks #tbt postcard is from 1966 and shows the former War Memorial Auditorium (built in 1963). Today the Hynes Convention Center , built in 1988 sits in this location.
