This is not Cinnamon. Cinnamon is a dog and this is where his food bowl goes. The pedestal is enough of a box for Ahsoka the cat to sit in. My tawny-toned tabby-striped kitty lies on her side lengthwise in a cardboard box that's slightly less than cat-width wide and slightly less than cat-length long. Her tail-end is pointing away from us, tail wrapped tightly around her bottom, little legs and paws squished up to her belly, and head closest to us in foreground at bottom of pic is turned up a little unnaturally against the end of the box, her mouth pulled into a wierd silly looking grin with one tooth showing.

Aufgrund verstärkter Nachfrage wurde der Bestand an multifunktionalen Kisten erhöht. Nun finden gesellige Nickerchen, kleinere Gefechte und auch Fellpflege darin statt. Manchmal bleibt unklar, wie stark Freiwilligkeit dabei eine Rolle spielt.

Due to increased demand, the stock of multifunctional boxes has been increased. Now, cosy naps, minor skirmishes and even grooming take place in them. Sometimes it remains unclear how much of this is voluntary.

I agree.
So many research topics. Here's an example: the human mind cannot fathom why this cardboard construction ruin is so extremely popular with cats. They lie in it, even though it is no longer a box in the strict sense. They continue to build on it. They fight over it. Why? Only the ‘If it sits it fits’ Academy could probably clarify this.
