Final post of our Winter Support Drive!

Our December veterinary services included Tommy the Cat's end-of-life care and Tabitha's week of hospitalization, and it cost more than our monthly income as a couple of disabled people living in poverty. And Tabitha's continuing expenses run a minimum of $200 each month.

We're a couple of disabled humans, living under the poverty line, mourning the loss of Tommy the Cat, and continuing to care for his sister, Tabitha, in what is likely to be the last year of her life.

Last month's veterinary bills were more than our monthly income, and Tabitha's ongoing monthly costs are a minimum of $200/month. It's expensive.

It's the final day of our Winter Support Drive. Who are we? A couple of disabled humans and the aging cat they care for.

December was tough for us. Both cats had medical emergencies. Tabitha was hospitalized for a week. Around that same time, we had to make the painful decision to euthanize her brother, Tommy the Cat.

Our December veterinary costs ended up being more than our income for the month. And Tabitha's medications and other veterinary supplies are costing us at least $200 a month, without even including the cost of the vet visits themselves.
