I'm listening to some music from Wendy & Mary (anyone remember them from 40-some years ago? Anyone?) The CCM from the mid-70s through the 80s is the best! I played that stuff nearly 24/7, just feel like doing some revisiting I guess. Do you listen to streaming music? Leelan has us listen to things on Spotify so that's what we use, before that I usually used Live365. But for the most part I like Majesty Radio [https://www.moodyradio.org/stations/majesty-radio] and just about anything on Rejoice Radio [https://www.rejoice.org] but the Mountain Aire station more than the others. @countrymetalhead Sticking my wooden spoon into the cast iron right along with you. For as long as I’ve followed it as a music genre, #CCM has eaten their young. It’s all fun and games until your little toe slips off the path of the straight and narrow. But, for me, that opens up another, more general question. Should people’s artistic output, or any output for that matter, be judged differently due to the type of person they happened to be? For me there’s no better example than Bill Cosby. It would be impossible to explain how much of a cultural touchstone Cosby was in my life growing up. His records played in my house from the time I was a toddler. I was a loyal watcher of Fat Albert on Saturday mornings. And the Cosby Show was 9 seasons of great television. Well, maybe 6 great years and 3 meh years, but that’s my opinion. And I’m supposed to flush that all down the crapper because he turned out not to be who everyone thought he was? I tried, but I couldn’t. I still enjoy what he did. And there’s no reason to punish Felicia Rishaud, Malcolm Jamal Warner, Raven, and all the other talents that lent themselves to the Cosby Show. His comedy routines still remind me of good times as a kid. So, no, I can’t ultimately go along with cancelling people’s work. Admittedly, though, I can’t think of the Harry Potter series in quite the same way once J. K. Rowling unmasked herself as a garbage human being.
