"Where an election or referendum has been formally called, the latest date for receipt of applications by your local authority is 15 DAYS BEFORE THAT ELECTORAL EVENT. Sundays, public holidays and Good Friday are not counted as days for this purpose. If your local authority does not get your form on time it can’t consider it for that election or referendum."

The election posters are up and it's now just one month to the local and European elections and one month until Limerick gets a directly elected mayor. After the referendums earlier this year I've given up trying to predict how the people will vote but the most important thing is that people do vote.
Make sure you are on the Register at https://www.checktheregister.ie/en-IE/
And remember you don't have to be an Irish citizen to vote in these elections.
We have a #referendum in 3 months time, and I had a bit of a rant about the coverage I am seeing on social media. https://vm.tiktok.com/ZGejXvm97/
@Luke_Drury My surname went in the surname field but it couldn't find me as Tríona, apparently I'm down as Triona 🙄
Anyone in Ireland checking their entry in the new online electoral register (and we have an election and a few referenda coming up soon) - when it says "first name" it actually means ALL your given names as they were in the old analogue register, not just your "first name" as I found recently. Is this a feature or a bug?
@ccferrie This is an important PSA post/ thread, Mastodaoine - in your work, community, and neighbourhood circles, make sure to get the word out: EU citizens resident in Ireland can vote in EU elections here, and our Local Elections are open to all residents. But you must be over 18 and registered. #PSA #IrishPol #RegisterToVote #CheckTheRegister #EUParl #LocalElections #EUParl2024 #LocalElections2024 #Mastodaoine #GetTheVoteOut
Since I see #checktheregister is trending as the registration process has changed, a random reminder to tell the #NUI graduate in your life to register for their Seanad vote.
Friends don't let friends stand idly by while Ronan Mullen sits in the Senate in their name.
