After Warner Bros put the kybosh on Western Publishing using Looney Tunes characters in Hostess ads, they gave their original character, Wacky Adventures of Cracky a try before giving up and exclusively featuring ads with other publishers' characters.

Hostess comic ads ran in comics starting in April of 1975 and they ran through April of 1982.

Looney Tunes only got 13 ads in the pages of Western Publishing comics from April 1975 to June 1976. After that WP comics featured ads with Harvey, Archie and Marvel characters. (Not DC for whatever reason.)

WP distribution issues in 1980 ended their partnership with Hostess.

But do we know why Looney Tunes characters stopped appearing in the Hostess ads 4 years earlier?
