The coruscating light of the setting sun beckoned Jix, the wood brownie, home. Zumo, the house guardian, waited patiently outside for him. The enticing scent of his wife’s cooking drifted through the windows, making his stomach rumble. He heard the sound of his children’s laughter coming from within. He smiled, home truly was where the heart is.
