Going Beyond DTI in the Clinic: The Appeal of Microstructural MRI by Prof. Ileana Jelescu (Microstructure Mapping Lab, CHUV & UNIL, Switzerland)

Diffusion #MRI is much richer than DTI. There is significant value in retrieving information about cellular density, morphology, characteristic sizes, myelination, etc.
Microstructural MRI has taken on the challenge with remarkable progress over the past few years.

Work from my grad student, Moriah Stendel, on relating personality to multivariate diffusion MRI using machine learning and out-of-sample prediction. We found effects for openness & neuroticism but only neuroticism showed a consistent prediction across samples & measures.
