From 13 to 17 May 2019 “Stichting Amsterdam Street Art” (ASA) organized a unique street art festival at the Platanenweg in the Eastside of Amsterdam. The festival “If Walls Could Speak” resulted in 10 huge murals ( 10 x 15 meters ) from well-known national and international street art artists. The designs of all the murals are brought forth from the theme ‘Amsterdam for Everybody’.

Streetartwall. Two huge murals were sprayed/painted on the exterior walls of a multi-story hotel. Part 1 is a beautiful geisha on the narrower part of the building. On a black background she is shown slightly to the side. In bright colors is a lady in a white silk kimono holding a pink butterfly in her two hands. In her hair and on her forearm she wears a floral arrangement of orchids in pink, purple and white. Part 2 is a street view in the big city and is twice the width of the geisha. You are looking down on a street at night. Tall buildings can be seen on the right and left. Cars are parked in front of two traffic lights, two passers-by are walking on the sidewalk, a road bridge can be seen and behind it a high-rise building. The mood of the big city with its lights, shadows and night atmosphere is wonderfully captured.
