The conference is co-organised by the Spanish #DPA but they seem to spend more time lamenting about #innovation, #datamarkets and #synergies than they do about #privacybydesign, #dataminimisation and #consent. :dumpster_fire: #GDPR

One #dataprotection principle is #dataminimisation that requires personal data to be adequate, relevant & limited to what is necessary for defined purposes. There is an evident tension btw data minimisation and the well-known hunger for data of most #machinelearning models.

@carmeartigas I’m glad to see the move beyond just data protection to the second step I outlined in my talk to the European Parliament three years ago.

Here’s hoping we can move to step 3 also (data minimisation).
