The Sylph MK7 #deltaprinter #3dprinter lives again! I had to replace all the electricals but it moves, heats, extrudes, etc.
Now to finish tuning once I get it unpacked in Seattle. Was really big and heavy to get into a box
Since I've been stuck quarantining for a few days after a COVID scare, designed this.
I really like the chin horn blower concept and gives me way more airflow than other designs. For the cooker
Thinking of calling it the Balor. Will be probably my best delta effector I've ever designed.
Still doing stuff with design for a new printer, been busy with day job for much bigger robots so delayed 😔
Was able to figure out the necessary math for my new #deltaprinter design so you put in plate diameter in the fctsd file and it will tell you how long the lateral beams and arms you need to cut for the build, as well as making the shape files for frame and enclosure. Won't need an external calculator program
And it will work in regular freecad .21
@scruss I will be checking them out. For some parts like heat sinks, machining is the only thing that will work.
I was wanting to make custom #E3DRevo heatsinks for direct drive #deltaprinter stuff
@Stark9837 @koz @3dprinting me and some folks on the Reprap festival circuit have been trying to resurrect the open source #deltaprinter scene with new designs and techniques.
It's been rough since Voron sucked a lot of oxygen out of the room and SeemeCNC has been nigh absent.
I've been working on some stuff to get more interest but time has been rough.
New effector for new #deltaprinter has been basic built. Still have some work.
Going to be amazing for MRRF. Shroud is printed
@synack @3dprinting I think if #prusa got in on the action, it would greatly improve. #creality currently has no competition or pressure to improve, and #cura has been falling behind. If #prusa were to make a #beltprinter and it is incorporated into #prusaslicer, I would also trust it more.
Which #slicer are you using for your #deltaprinter? What is your experience with the software for deltas?
The next generation of the Sylph effector system shaping up. Will be interesting to see if I get it done before #mrrf2023.
Caption has all the techy details. Thinking of putting this one in one of my retrofits of my MKV version to do weight and performance tuning before going to the MKVI
