Even though the only #NASCAR diecast I buy anymore is cheap obscure vintage cars from the 90s I see in North Carolina thrift malls when I visit, it still makes me sad that young fans have such a limited selection whenever I go to the toys sections of Wal-Mart or Target. When I was a kid you could easily complete a full Cup field with all the different dicast options they had, but now you get like a choice of four or five cars from the most popular drivers in stores.

Perhaps not quite as spectacular, but I still can't believe it exists at all—the new Hot Wheels BMW 733i arrived. A very nicely detailed premium model, but some of the proportions are a bit funky. Still better than the late-’70s Majorette release, but maybe not quite the equal of my own E23, if I do say so. Also threw some new Matchbox into my cart, to make the shipping cost worthwhile; in just a couple of months they've taken us from zero to two Polestars. #WeirdCarMastodon #164scale #diecast
