Of course now that it's time to study for finals, all my Creative Impulses are bubbling up:
1) I want to create a design for "2026 year of the fire horse" so I can send little hand-painted postcards with my winter holiday cards. Chinese-ink-style horses are so beautiful, and adding fire to the design would make it extra magical. I have some ideas for a design, but I've never painted horses and they're considered one of the more difficult subjects in Chinese brush painting. On the plus side, I have a beautiful vermilion (orange/red) Japanese ink that would work perfect for the fiery mane and tail I'm imagining.
2) I need to finally figure out how to turn this book I got at the transfer station about "Christmas in Britain". There are some creepy images in there (see below), and I'd like to figure out what kind of collage zine (or something) to make with this material. Some kind of remixed book. Maybe it'll be a guide to human Christmas written by aliens for other aliens. But they get it all wrong and so their "Christmas in Britain" guidebook makes it out to be a deeply creepy holiday. And it'll use actual images from this book, but only the creepy ones. whaf do y'all think: would that be funny?
