Ho scoperto solo oggi che il vignettista israeliano Dry Bones (Jerry Yaakov Kirshner), che mi ha regalato tanti sorrisi, è scomparso il 14 aprile scorso.

Vorrei ricordarlo ripostando la vignetta che di lui mi ha fatto più ridere, a mio avviso la migliore, amara e sconsolata.

AI was hot in the 80s, but Kirschen felt people didn't really want "artificial intelligence" — but artificial *personality* and *creativity.* "Could a computer display personality traits? Could a computer create music?" he asked.

He was ahead of his time.

Decades later, I began researching and rescuing Kirschen's forgotten computer games and software for the Apple II, Atari ST, Commodore Amiga, and IBM PC.

Sad news: "Dry Bones" cartoonist Yaakov Kirschen has died.

I first encountered Kirschen through his "Mom and Me" and "Murray and Me" graphical chatbot programs (received from my uncle Jim when he handed down his Atari ST to us in the late 1980s).

Kirschen's work on "Mom" and "Murray" was profiled in-depth by the NYT, LAT, and others.

Avis lecture serie 📚📚📚

J'avoue que je me suis posée la question à la lecture de ce livre si cela avait été une bonne idée d'acheter autant de livres de cette série d'un coup. J'aime beaucoup plus la série de Keith Mc Cafferty. Après, il faut dire que je ne me facilite pas la tâche en les lisant dans le désordre. Dans cette enquête, le mystère est autour de la mort d'un propriétaire terrien. Sur cette terre a été trouvé le squelette d'un immense dinosaure appelé Jen. Est-ce le squelette la cause de cette mort ? Y a t-il des secrets de famille ?
Notre cher shérif enquête avec plus ou moins de difficultés avec ses amis.
L'enquête est intéressante et c'est la description de l'environnement et des conditions de vie dans cette partie des Etats-Unis qui fait pour moi tout l'intérêt de cette lecture. Ce n'est pas un coup de coeur mais il m'a donné envie de continuer la lecture de cette série.

Picked up this lil Dry Bones figure today. I'm not collecting Mario stuff but always liked these skeletal Koopa Troopas and so bought him after having blood tests this morning (ironic as Dry Bones has no blood himself).
