I picked up an IMD-202-1 #NIXIE #DVM for parts, but I decided to take a look at it first. Shorted ICs and low voltages on the power supply were just the start, but since it was designated a parts unit from the get-go I decided to leave it at that.

I had some time, so I sat down with the #Heathkit IM-1212 #NIXIE #DVM and did some #component replacements in an effort to stabilize #calibration of the device. It worked about as well as you'd expect - that is, not really at all. Read my conclusions on my project blog:
