Il a été très peu question, dans les médias et dans la parole des politiques, du bombardement systématique des lieux de savoir à Gaza : toutes les universités, bibliothèques, musées, lieux patrimoniaux, écoles, lycées, etc., ont pourtant été détruits. On n'a pas vu le programme PAUSE ni les collègues des universités françaises ou du CNRS s'inquiéter, ni se mobiliser, à de très rares exceptions près, généralement individuelles, et plus rarement (voire jamais) institutionnelles. Cela tranche fortement avec l'empressement mis à soutenir moralement et matériellement les universitaires états-uniens qui sont pourtant encore vivant.es, certes menacé.es dans leur liberté académique, mais pas dans leur vie. On voit bien, finalement, que derrière les discours médiatiques et universitaires présentant les sciences comme un rempart face à l'obscurantisme et comme un pilier de la démocratie face au fascisme, ce qui résiste, c'est encore et toujours un profond racisme structurel anti-arabe, un imaginaire colonial très bien implanté dans les cerveaux des intellectuel.les français.es pour qui, la démocratie et la vie tout court, ce sont finalement des trucs de mecs blancs des pays du nord, mais ça ne concerne ni les noirs, ni les arabes, et surtout pas les pays considérés comme "musulmans". Réfléchissez-y bien avant de courir soutenir, avec des trémolos dans la voix, nos "libertés académiques menacées par la folie fasciste", et regardez-vous dans un miroir, chères et chers collègues : vous êtes vous mobilisé.es pour Gaza ?
