Tangling on free paper is fun. The left tile was cut from a paper bag from the grocery store (the paper is thin and bendy, so not ideal as a tile, but pens an pencils work well). On this tile I used Starrose, Diva Dance and Juke as my tangles plus lots of Aura and Perfs. The right one used Cubine as a string, and the tangles are Flux, Fescu and Nekton. The tile was cut from an amazon cardboard envelope.

This tile was tangled on the inside of a paper bag from a grocery store. In the center there's the tangle Siros, which looks like a woven four sided star with a black pearl in the center. White and black auras and Perfs are around the center motif. The background is divided vertically in two areas. The left is filled with Diva Dance in sanguine pen with some shading with graphite and highlights in white pastel pencil. The right area is filled with the tangle Juke, a grid tangle done with sanguine, black and white pen, shaded with graphite and highlighted with white pastel pencil.

This tile was made from an amazon cardboard envelope. The string is Cubine, with the three areas filled with different tangles, so you get the impression of a room you are looking into. The "ceiling" is filled with white Fescu on a background done in white pastel pencil. Together with the brownish background of the tile the background is still dark enough to show the white tangling. The "wall" is tangled with Nekton in sanguine pen with sanguine shading and white pastel highlights. The back "wall" is filled with Flux, a leaf shape. The background is filled with black ink, so the brownish leaves show well. The leaves are shaded with graphite and highlighted with white pastel.

A tan square tile with squiggly lines going from lower left to upper right. The right field is filled with Pina, a pattern in a square grid. The center is filled with the pattern Liberty Fan, which is based on a hexagonal dot grid. Then follows a band of Telis, another square grid pattern. To make the narrow Band only one row of Telis squares is used. The upper left corner is filled with black Tipple, and sanguine Fescu. The colors are black, white and sanguine (ink pen) with graphite shading. I added accents with white and sanguine pastel pencil.

This is a square tile drawn with black pen and graphite pencil. I used the pattern El Prado as a square frame. The inside of the frame has four fields. They are filled checkerboard fashion with two patterns. The first pattern is a rectangular grid pattern named Flag-Dow. The other pattern is called Vortex, a square grid pattern, but each field holds only one repeat of the pattern.

This is a square white tile drawn with black pen and graphite pencil. The lower half is filled with the pattern Finery. The points are embellished by double spirals. Everything is then auraed. Finery is hovering over the background made up of two square grid patterns. On the left is the darker Bucky, on the right is the lighter Tied Together.

Random Tile Project 2.2. This is my second tile from the same set of Tangles. The Tangles for this week's set are: Flukes, Jeewels, Tied Together, Core, Finery, Kaleida and Bucky. In this tile I used Finery, Bucky, and Tied Together. The rules are very simple: Use one or more of the random tangles, add other tangles if you wish.

Black and white tile drawn with black ink pen and graphite pencil. The Tangle Finery fills the lower half of the off-white tile. It has Printemps-like frills on its tips. The patterns Bucky (lots of close lines in longish hexagon shape) and Tied Together (made up of portrait oriented rectangles, ever other of them filled with 1 vertical line and a dot in the center of that line in checkerboard fashion). Finery seems to hover over the two other patterns.

#the100dayproject, day 7. I just put a few bubbles on this tile to try my new pastel pencil in blue. Then I added some Flux until I liked the look. The pink pen was a lovely addition to the composition. Used my finger to soften the pastel marks.

A square, off-white tangle tile with tourquoise bubbles floating over growth of pink Flux sprouts.

A round tile, and my first prestrung tile. These have a string printed on them. That makes it easier to make a symmetrical drawing on these
tiles. This one is unusual, as the central flower has 9 petals. Coloring was done with ink and gel pen. I love the result, and I love the colors. The patterns were : Fescu, Cyme, Tipple, and Doodah.

Round piece of thick paper the size of a DVD. Drawing in blue, orange and black, shaded with graphite. The center is a flower with 9 blue-rimmed petals with 9 stamens in orange. Around it are fields of Fescu, and the outer edge are swirls of blue Doodah borders with a rim of Tipple. The center of the flower is again a mall flower of very narrow petals with a black and blue center with white borders.

In this tile I used a string I dreamed of. As I usually don't remember my dreams I had to do tiles with this string. Here I used patterns Moon Pie, Tipple, Doodah, Knightsbridge, Munchin, Printemps and Ambler, plus Fragments F 25 and H21.

A tangled tile, 3.5" square, in black and white patterns.

This is a home-made tile cut from one of the envelopes that Amazon uses. The inside is unprinted, and can be used for art practice.

The patterns I used are Ennies, Cubine, Narfello, and Rain.

Today I share a series of bookmarks I gave away today. These are made from leftover strips of paper small enough to fit into a small Bible. The second photo was made to show the gold accents in all their glittery goodness.
