Mission Bloody Mary (1965), first of the hugely entertaining Agent 077 eurospy films. With a stolen H-bomb and equally dangerous women. Stylish but gritty. Well-plotted, fast-paced and action-packed, very enjoyable. And available on DVD!

Richard Denning takes a break from hunting gillmen and scorpions to play super-spy! Well, adequate-spy anyway.
Not a bad film, and interesting having the American officer based in London. The locals do more to solve the case than our hero.

This is considered a spoof of the spy genre, but it honestly isn’t any more outrageous than some of the future Bond films. (In fact, the plot isn’t too dissimilar to “Moonraker”.)

Feel there may have been some aggressive editing that cut out a scene or two, but even so there were times that this film felt like it was dragging.

You might expect Claude Chabrol’s Blue Panther to be a lighthearted 1965 eurospy romp but it isn't. Chabrol is trying to deconstruct the genre and play other similar games. If that appeals to you you'll love the film. If not, you'll be bored.

The Killer Likes Candy, a 1968 French-Italian-German eurospy film. An assassin has one weakness - candy. He leaves candy wrappers at crime scenes.

Lacks the over-the-top fun of the best eurospy films but has decent suspense and some fine action.

Fantomas (1964), first of the popular French Fantomas adventure/crime films. Superficially with a lot in common with the eurospy movies of the 60s. Certainly influenced by the success of the Bond movies.

Based on the early 20th century Fantomas novels.

Fantomas is one of the great diabolical criminal masterminds.
