@bud_t #FFWN I just found out about the net and just set up a Mastodon account to be able to participate only to find out the net is no longer active. I would like to see it rebooted.

@bud_t mentioned a reboot of #FFWN. I've never taken part, but would be interested to try.

One of the questions was about using a form for checkin. Personally, that would be an impediment to me for now. Reason being is that I'd most likely use the APRS winlink gateway with an HT.

@KC8JC thanks. Hardly anyone exercised the opt-out, so we could probably drop that piece!

And yes, having an alternate NCS would be great!

@bud_t The old format was a lot of fun. I can’t think of a way to improve it, myself. Definitely need an alternate controller for you! The opt-in is nice, but is it really worth it? I don’t have that answer.

But I’d love to see it come back!

I can only think of a couple instances where someone opted out of the check in list. I've thought about dropping that part, but it is only one character (Y or N).

Someone checked into the #FediFridayWinlinkNet this week, which I applaud. We haven't activated the net for months now, but this steadfast #hamradio operator sent a check-in anyway. Kudos to them.

I wonder if we should try to restart #FFWN? What do folks think? I may be able to do it.

It is with reluctance that I say this, but I think we need to postpone the #FediFridayWinlinkNet for a while.

I'm pretty swamped with work and travel right now and I just don't have the bandwidth to promote and manage it each week. If someone wants to step in and take it over, let me know! But for the next few months I just don't have time.
